Glove making
A glove earns its keep by being used.
A pair of gloves should stand up to weather and work. Our leather gloves are crafted from full-grain cowhide, goatskin, elk and bison, with each leather chosen for its durability and the character it develops over time. Built to take the wear of a proper working pair, and to become better with use.
Fresh from the package, the leather carries a faint trace of the tannery: a subtle smoked, oiled scent that softens as the gloves are worn. We work with specialist workshops in Ethiopia, the USA and Japan, chosen with the same care we put into the materials. No shortcuts, no mass production.
We didn't set out to make something that stays looking new, but something that gets through winters, long days and years of work. Something that develops character with use rather than simply wearing thin.
Every pair is backed by our lifetime warranty against material and manufacturing defects.

MANUFACTURING
Made by specialist glove makers
Glove making is a specialised craft, with skills and production methods that are no longer widely found in Sweden. Rather than compromise on the standard we expect, we work with experienced glove makers abroad, chosen for their knowledge and craftsmanship.
Every hide is selected and checked to the same standard before it reaches the workshop. The stitching and construction are carried out by specialist hands, each with its own experience of the craft. We believe in being clear about where our products are made. What matters is the skill behind the work, not simply the flag on the label.

MATERIALS
Leather, lining and hardware
Full-grain cowhide forms the foundation of the range, with goatskin, elk and bison used for select styles. Each leather has its own character and feel- cowhide firm and smooth, goatskin soft and supple, elk naturally flexible, and bison thick with a pronounced grain.
The lining is chosen for the purpose of each glove. Wool provides natural warmth and comfort against the skin, Thinsulate™ adds insulation without unnecessary bulk, while Kevlar® is used where greater resistance to cuts is required. Brass eyelets and buckles complete the construction, with some styles using a paracord loop and a locking eyelet instead.

CARE
Leather that shows it gets used
Leather needs a little care to stay at its best. Apply a thin coat of leather wax by hand, repeating a couple of times each season depending on how often and how hard the gloves are used. Kevlar®-lined gloves used for heavier work may need care more often.
If the gloves get wet, let them air dry naturally at room temperature. Keep them away from radiators, open flames and other direct heat, which can dry the leather too quickly and cause it to stiffen. While drying, fill out the gloves gently to help them retain their shape.

DESIGN
Designed to move with the hand
The pattern is cut to follow the natural movement of the hand, with reinforced seams where grip and wear are greatest. The range covers everything from lightweight everyday gloves to heavier goatskin and Kevlar® styles made for outdoor work, along with a smaller fit for narrower hands.
Every pair is backed by our lifetime warranty against material and manufacturing defects. Made to last well beyond a single season, and to keep doing its job year after year.
Frequently Asked Questions
Our gloves are made by specialist workshops in Ethiopia, the USA and Japan, chosen with the same care we put into our materials.
Measure around the palm of your dominant hand, just below the knuckles and excluding the thumb. Then compare the measurement with the size chart on the product page of the glove you are interested in, as sizing can vary slightly between models. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.
Whether you’re looking for an unlined glove for the milder months or a lined pair for warmth or cut resistance, there’s a Crud glove made for it. Unlined models give you the closest feel for what you’re holding. Lined models add warmth for cold days or Kevlar® protection for heavier work. Choose by the work, the weather and how much feel you need.
Straight out of the box, the leather is firm and carries a faint smoky, oiled scent from the tannery. The scent fades as you wear them, and the leather breaks in and shapes itself to your hands after just a few uses.
When the leather starts to feel dry, apply a thin layer of Crud leather wax and let it absorb. A little wax goes a long way, and regular care keeps the leather strong for years.
